Just received this item and I'm really pleased with it. The construction is really very good - quality (FSC certified) wood that is well put together. I had read that bees are extra most likely to use the box if an entrance is created using piping that can be buried below the ground, rather than employing the landing platform (but that most hosepipes are too narrow to use for this). Yet, although it is not mentioned in the product description, mine also came with a length of piping developed to be utilized with the box - result! In truth, the only thing necessary that wasn't in the box was a piece of corrugated cardboard that it really is advised you put in the bottom of the box (so I used some of the box it was packaged in).
It is now March, so I can't wait to web-site this and see if any bees turn up. It really is not stated, but it really is advised that the box is sited at ground level, south facing, with some cover - a hedge would be perfect, but I'm going to have to web site it against a wall with planting put to use to deliver the suggested cover.
