I bought this toy for my senior cat who is a 14 year-old-girl, but sadly she has refused to show any actual interest in it despite my numerous attempts to get her engaged in chasing the light dot....
The lazer beam dot generated by the toy is bright and especially clear, so I cannot fault the toy itself. However, after dabbing a few times with her paw at the dot and rapidly realising she cannot truly pin it down, my cat would stop watching the dot and rather start out watch my hand holding the toy, hence marking that she "knows" how the thing functions and that it is a bit of a scam, so to speak... :-)
I have to conclude she's merely too old and life-knowledgeable to appreciate this sort of playing - possibly a toy superior suited for younger and alot more "gullible" kitties?
My two year old cat has become extremely quiet since we lost her brother and I've purchased her endless different toys to try and encourage her to play once again. I saw this Laser Chase Cat Toy and noticed it had some very favourable critiques. I decided to give it a try and so far it has been a good results. Polly now enjoys lots of chasing and pouncing and even looks round for it when it is switched off. I tried it with my neighbour's cats with equal accomplishment. I consider this is an fantastic decide to buy and will be getting some way more in the future as gifts for my daughters cats.
